Salon 8: more eyes for more ideas
In our first issue we had the great opportunity to involve in our magazine Mick Van Meelen, art director and visual creative with great ideas. You can see a portrait taken from him, we used for a concept about technology and confidence, here at page 17 (or using the link-button ‘Read our Current Issue’).
Looking through his works I found this great project about photography: Salon 8. Eight photographers (the most based in nord Europe) using the many possibilities of photographic arts to convey a new perception of the world.
The image taken are organized in 26 themes and updated every two weeks. You can have also news thanks to a blog and from the different websites of the individual photographers. Moreover a real interesting aspect is a sort of stagionality of the work-in-progress: in the main page you can see the different themes and a specific date for the next one coming up. On 11th April the images about the word Vulnerable will be published: the concept it’s similar to a special ‘advent calendar’.
And the minimal aspect of the whole site is praiseworthy.
On the page who is who on Salon 8 there are more information about who’s joining the project, and here some places where you can find the works of Mick:
