Losing a few people won’t hurt Facebook, which has more than 400 million registered members, most of them oblivious to the debate over privacy. In fact, I suspect Facebook will end up being to this decade what Microsoft was to the 1990s—an ever-more-powerful company with tentacles that reach into everything. I also suspect that whatever Facebook has done so far to invade our privacy, it’s only the beginning. Which is why I’m considering deactivating my account. Facebook is a handy site, but I’m freaked by the idea that my information is in the hands of people I don’t trust. That is too high a price to pay.

Poi ci si chiede a cosa servono le newsletter. A scoprire delle rarità interessanti come questa: “just 60 seconds of a New York minute”.
Dicono non sia un trailer ma rimanda di fatto al progetto New York Minute che verrà lanciato o accadrà il 22 settembre (si sono presi in anticipo per sicurezza). Il progetto è collegato al network di arte.tv / arte webdocs che è una fucina che andrebbe monitorata più spesso, non fosse per questo francese omnipresente (parlo io che sto scrivendo in italiano).
Qui trovate il blog con maggiori specifiche sull’idea e sullo stato dell’arte.
La cosa che mi sta facendo ancora riflettere in realtà è proprio questa scelta di un lancio così anticipato. Una cosa che in Italia - a causa della preponderanza della tv in formato catodico/digitale - abbiamo poco presente.
Io, in base all’abitudine della mia personale fruizione del web avrei detto che fosse meglio lanciare un contenuto con relativamente poco anticipo per rimanere ‘sul pezzo’ e tenere caldo il cross-linking. Però mi sto ricredendo.
Una chicca è che arte.tv è dietro la produzione della serie Havana-Miami che prima ero abituata a vedere solo sulle pagine di Internazionale.

“We don’t need no education”
In our first issue Daniele De Col decided to use a Pink Floyd quote to describe Berlin in the Cities column of 15Things (I hope you understood what song I am talking about but, in case, you can check here at page 4) therefore it has been easy to use another quote from this great group to introduce you the new main topic for our next issue: EDUCATION.
It’s a many-sided subject and we are working to ‘turn-upon’ it and find - as we’d like to - what would be great to underline and undercover. Of course we ask you too over possible ways to treat this subject and any idea, suggestion, link or furthermore is welcome.
